Anett Árvay graduated in English, Hungarian and Hungarian Studies at the University of Szeged. In 2009 she earned her PhD (supervised by Prof. Enikő Németh T.), entitled  The analysis of manipulation in Hungarian and American written advertising discourse. Currently, she is a senior assistant professor at the Hungarian Studies Programs at SZTE. Her research focuses on persuasion, manipulation, intercultural pragmatics and intercultural learning. She delivers lectures for Hungarian and international students in linguistics, language pedagogy and cultural studies for the Hungarian Studies programs, General Linguistics Department and for the Communication and Media Studies Department at the University of Szeged.
