DOCTORAL SCHOOL IN LINGUISTICS
Dávid Szabó is associate professor of French linguistics at the Department of French Studies of Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest. He is also the director of the CIEF (Interuniversity Centre for French Studies) and of the journal Revue d’Études Françaises. He defended his PhD dissertation on Hungarian Students’ Slang at Université Paris Descartes in 2002 and his post-doctoral (habilitation) thesis on Slang and Lexicography at Eötvös Loránd University in 2012. He has been a visiting lecturer or a visiting professor at several French universities and grandes écoles, has organised and published numerous international conferences, the number of his international and Hungarian publications is close to one hundred. He has been the editor or the editor in chief of several French-Hungarian and Hungarian-French dictionaries. His main research fields are the sociolinguistic study of non-standard French and Hungarian varieties, especially Slang, and French-Hungarian and Hungarian-French lexicography and also include translation studies, with special regard to non-standard varieties.
