DOCTORAL SCHOOL IN LINGUISTICS

 

Erzsébet Drahota-Szabó is a university professor and the appointed dean responsible for scientific affairs at the Faculty of Education of the University of Szeged. Her main research area is contrastive linguistics, with a particular focus on contrastive phraseology. She has been regularly teaching contrastive grammar, lexicology, and phraseology abroad as a visiting professor for many years (Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt). Her textbooks are used in German teacher training programs. She is intensively researching types of linguistic creativity. In recent years, her main area of interest has been translation studies, particularly the study of cultural realia. She is a core member of the PhD program in Linguistics at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Szeged and the head of the German Linguistics doctoral program. She is also a member of the editorial boards and scientific advisory committees of several journals.
