DOCTORAL SCHOOL IN LINGUISTICS
István Ferincz completed his university studies majoring in Hungarian and Russian at the University of Szeged between 1960 and 1965. He wrote his thesis on the development of the literary language of the Kievan Rus under the supervision of Professor Imre H. Tóth. His doctoral thesis was also on the literary language of the Kievan Rus and was defended before the committee of Professor István Nyomárkay and Associate Professor Károly Gadányi. Later, he taught courses on the history of the Russian literary language to Russian major students for several years and have published several articles on the subject. As an honorary professor at the University of Szeged, he regularly participates in reviewing theses by students from Budapest.
