Miklós Németh

Miklós Németh is an Associate Professor at the Department of Hungarian Linguistics, SZTE. He earned his PhD degree from the University of Szeged in 2002, and habilitated at the University of Debrecen in 2023. His main research interests include sociolinguistics and dialectology, in which he also conducts synchronic and historical research. His teaching activities are focus on these areas and on the history of Hungarian. He is the author of three monographs and editor of six. In her current research, he and his colleagues are investigating the development of speakers' perceptions related to dialect and standard language varieties in the framework of the Patterns of language regard in the city of Szeged, Hungary and vicinity: a study in perceptual dialectology project.
