DOCTORAL SCHOOL IN LINGUISTICS
Róbert Péter is an associate professor in the Department of English and the founding head of the Digital Humanities Laboratory. He holds Master's degrees in English (MA) and Mathematics (MSc), and received his PhD in English Studies in 2007. He is one of the founding editors of Digitális Bölcsészet (Digital Humanities) journal. His research is driven by data-intensive methodologies and focuses on text and metadata mining, including topic modelling, named entity recognition and linking, lexical diversity analysis, and part-of-speech tagging. He has conducted authorship attribution studies in both English and Hungarian corpora. His work has been published in journals such as the Digital Scholarship in the Humanities and the Journal of Open Humanities Data. Since 2011, he has collaborated on various interdisciplinary projects with computational linguists, data scientists, mathematicians, and software engineers. He serves as the principal investigator of the AVOBMAT (Analysis and Visualization of Bibliographic Metadata and Texts). This multilingual research tool will soon be available through the Gesellschaft für wissenschaftliche Datenverarbeitung mbH Göttingen (GWDG).
