DOCTORAL SCHOOL IN LINGUISTICS
Tibor Berta is an Associate Professor at the Department of Hispanic Studies of the University of Szeged, where he teaches mainly Spanish, Catalan and comparative Romance linguistics. In 2002 he obtained his PhD degree at the Faculty of Humanities of Eötvös Loránd University (Contribución a la historia de la promoción de clíticos en español y portugués; supervisor: Giampaolo Salvi). He specialises in the historical-comparative morphosyntax of Ibero-Romance languages, publishing mainly on the position of clitics, verbal periphrases and the history of compound verbs. He regularly participates in linguistic conferences and has been a visiting lecturer at the Eötvös Loránd University, the University of Alicante, the West University of Timisoara and the Masaryk University.
