Zsigriné Györgyi Sejtes
Zsigriné Györgyi Sejtes is an assistant professor at the Department of Hungarian Linguistics at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Szeged, and she serves as a research teacher and director at the Gyula Juhász Practical Primary School of the University of Szeged. In her dual roles, her research on the development of reading comprehension is interdisciplinary and aims to renew pedagogical practice by incorporating foundational findings from cognitive text linguistics and pragmatics. In 2021, she defended her doctoral dissertation entitled A Dynamic Text Linguistic Model for the Development and Measurement of Text Comprehension Skills – Possible Alternative Applications of a Cognitive, Functional, Pragmatic Framework in the 7th and 8th Grades at Primary Schools in the Theoretical Linguistics PhD Program at the University of Szeged. She is a founding member of the Gyula Szemere Mother Tongue Pedagogy Research Group and one of the developers of the Beszédmester reading teaching software.
